West Coast Ports Labor Negotiations
The Pacific Maritime Association (PMA) and the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) are currently in negotiations to renew the labor contract that expired on July 1, 2014. Both PMA and the ILWU have pledged to remain at the negotiating table until a new contract is agreed to and to keep cargo moving in the interim. The parties have released a number of joint statements as negotiations have progressed, which are available on the PMA website.
IWPA has joined a coalition of business groups in urging the parties to reach an agreement as quickly as possible in order to provide certainty to shippers.
