IWPA Releases International Wood for A&D Community, Wood Buyers

International Wood 2012 Cover: Baltic birch was the sole wood used for shelving and paneling throughout Chicago's new Poetry Building.Alexandria, Virginia: The International Wood Products Association (IWPA) released the 9th issue of International Wood at IWF 2012. “I am constantly inspired by the projects that architects and designers are developing that celebrate the use of wood in new and innovative ways. I’m extremely proud how this publication and IWPA are sharing these stories,” stated Warren Spitz, Founder and CEO of UCS Forest Products Group, and IWPA’s current elected President.

The award-winning publication is known for capturing the imagination as it celebrates the accomplishments of leading architects and designers in their wood specification and use. The publication also includes industry’s comprehensive one-stop sourcing directory. New this year is a plan to digitize all past articles and seamlessly integrate across all of IWPA’s social media platforms. This strategy gives the 2012/2013 issue of International Wood its greatest global distribution ever.

International Wood serves as an invaluable “Buyers Guide” of the leading companies engaged in the import and export of wood products. Expanded partnerships with U.S. trade associations and an exciting collaboration with the American Hardwood Export Council continue to expand International Wood's global reach.

Also expanded for 2012 is the popular International Floors and Decks section, which illustrates the exciting and innovative ways in which exotic wood species are serving these growing market segments. “Architects, designers and distributors are embracing an impressively wide range of species now available to them,” said Brent McClendon, IWPA Executive Vice President. In total, more than 20,000 key decision makers involved in the design, specification, manufacture, distribution and retail of wood products for plywood, lumber, veneer, flooring, decking and other lumber products receive the copy in print. The digital edition gives online readers 24/7 access at
