IWPA Releases Latest Award-Winning International Wood Sourcing Directory
Alexandria, Virginia – September 24, 2009: Stories on how exotic species are driving the latest design trends and meeting strict new legal requirements can be found in the sixth edition of the award winning International Wood: The Guide to Applications, Sources and Trends.
Included in the just-released publication is the comprehensive, one-stop sourcing directory for the industry with detailed contact information and product specifications. Also included in the redesigned 84-page publication are new and innovative applications for imported wood products in a wide range of projects and an expansive exotic flooring and decking feature.
Readers of this year’s International Wood can expect to see impressive projects and a wide range of species currently being used by architects and designers in innovative ways,” said Brent McClendon, IWPA Executive Vice President. “In addition, we’re proud to feature in this issue some of the great stories our industry has to tell about how the specification and use of imported materials protects wildlife, assures legality and expands tropical sustainable forest management.”
Reaching 15,000 key decision makers involved in the specification, manufacture, import and distribution of wood products in North America, International Wood (IW) remains unique to trade publications. The sixth edition covers a broad spectrum of imported veneer, flooring, decking, plywood and lumber use in the U.S. market. “Meranti’s role in protecting the treasured Orangutan and how Mardi Gras float builders themselves are using imported plywood to help revive New Orleans highlights just a few of the ways that U.S. manufacturers are driving positive change locally and around the world” said Scott Beggs, IWPA’s elected President.
International Wood also offers an invaluable directory of industry suppliers—a real must have for anyone involved in sourcing wood products. This annual guide serves as the industry “yellow pages”, providing valuable year-round sourcing information. Combined with the fully searchable product listing on IWPA’s website, quality suppliers of imported wood products are never more than a phone call or click away.
Subscriptions to International Wood are free. Additional copies are available from online store, or by contacting IWPA. Cost is $15 (non-member) or $5 (member), plus $5 s/h. IWPA accepts checks, money orders and most credit cards (Visa/Mastercard).
Established in 1956, IWPA is the leading international trade association for the North American imported wood products industry, representing 190 companies and trade associations engaged in the import of hardwoods and softwoods from sustainably managed forests. Association members consist of three key groups involved in the import process: U.S. importers and consuming industries, offshore manufacturers and the service providers that facilitate trade.
